Seribu Islands KPKP Sub-agency Campaigns for Gemarikan in Two Schools

The Seribu Islands Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency (KPKP), held a Campaign Safari for the Movement to Popularize Fish Eating (Gemarikan) at SDN 01 Pagi Pulau Pari on Pari Island and SDN 02 Pagi Pulau Pari on Lancang Island, South Seribu Islands.

Today's event is very exciting

Seribu Islands KPKP Sub-agency Head, Nurliati said it aims to socialize the importance of eating fish from an early age. It is because the fish is a highly nutritious food source that contains omega three, protein, vitamins, and minerals.

"Through the Gemarikan campaign, it also supports the government in its stunting reduction acceleration program, especially in Seribu Islands. Then, create a healthy, strong and intelligent society," she expressed, Thursday (7/25).

Commission B Supports Additional Budget for Gemarikan Program

She explained there were about 426 students, consisting of 159 from SDN 01 Pagi and 267 from SDN 02 Pagi. The campaign was packaged with storytelling, singing and fun games, thus the message conveyed was easy for children to understand.

As planned, it would still continue at SDN 01 Pagi Pulau Untung Jawa, Friday (7/26) tomorrow.

"Hopefully, it can increase individual and collective nutritional awareness in the community, thus they like to consume safe, healthy and halal fish," she hoped.

SDN 01 Pagi Pulau Pari Principal, Ulmu Bahroir admitted the students were very enthusiastic and happy to participate in this activity until the end.

He explained that cultivating eating fish from an early age is a must in the hope of producing a superior and achieving young generation.

"We welcome and strongly support the Gemarikan campaign program. Hopefully, it will continue because fish consumption is very good for children's health and intelligence," he explained.

One of the students from SDN 01 Pagi Pulau Pari, Kania Dwi Aryanti (11) admitted she felt happy being able to sing together and play by getting to know the types of fish. She also received a parcel in the form of processed fish food.

"Today's event is very exciting. Earlier, we were told to remind mothers at home to cook fish more often with vegetables because it is good for my growth," she admitted.
